Family Empowerment

Since 2016, our team has provided data-driven family empowerment services to schools that are seeking to co-create solutions with families. Learn more about this service and outcome data below.

2019/2020 Initiative

The 2019-2020 school year represents the second full year, and third total, of this innovative partnership between Ashley Park PreK-8 and Movement Charter school. Stemming from previous years, there were clear goals that were established between all parties to ensure that district/charter relationships continue to improve and that families were kept at the center of this work.

2020/2021 Initiative

The 2020-2021 school year represents a unique year in family empowerment support. It is the third full year, and the fourth total, of this innovative work, and was also a year of expansion as we partnered with five additional schools on their family partnership initiatives. Although this year presented many challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to report on the data, impact, and stories from the 2020-2021 school year.

2021/2022 Initiative

The 2021-2022 school year is the fourth full year, and the fifth total, of this innovative work. We expanded throughout the Charlotte area to five more schools and piloted a virtual model with a school in Durham. In total, we supported 12 schools and an estimated 11,600 students and their families. This year’s work focused on family insights, with an increased spotlight on community partnerships and financial literacy. We partnered with schools to host 34 family-focused events, brought out over 3,711 attendees, and connected families to 68 community partners.
