Since 2016, our team has provided data-driven family empowerment services to schools that are seeking to co-create solutions with families. Learn more about this service and outcome data below.

  • 2021/2022 Initiative

    The 2021-2022 school year is the fourth full year of this innovative work. We expanded throughout Charlotte to five more schools and piloted a virtual model with a school in Durham. In total, we supported 12 schools and 11,600 students and their families.

    This year’s work focused on family insights, with an increased spotlight on community partnerships and financial literacy. We partnered with schools to host 34 family events to 3,711 attendees, and connected families to 68 community partners.

  • 2022/2023 Initiative

    The 2022-2023 school year is the fifth full year, and the sixth total, of this innovative work. We expanded our services and supported 16 schools/programs. In total, we supported an estimated 12,300+ students and their families, and co-hosted 50 events with
    our school partners that brought out 5,000+ attendees.

    We focused our support on families by connecting them to upward mobility through financial education, job training workshops, and advocacy and community organizing training.

  • 2023/2024 INITIATIVE

    The 2023-2024 school year marks the sixth year of this innovative. We expanded our services and supported 20 organizations across NC, serving approximately 18,000 students and their families.

    We co-hosted 82 data-driven, family-focused events with our partner organizations and had 9,678 attendees at these events. We continued supporting families’ journeys toward upward mobility by connecting 250 adults to financial education opportunities and 176 to workforce development opportunities.
