Thanks for joining for another episode of the #SquarePizzaPod.
We had the joy of speaking with Munro Richardson, Executive Director of Read Charlotte, a community initiative that unites families, educators and community partners to improve children’s literacy from birth to third grade. Reading proficiency at third grade is a critical predictor of school, career and life success. Children who are not reading at grade level by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. Munro, a self-described “lover of coffee, books, and data” has held this role since the organization’s launch in 2015.
In this episode we dig into:
– Munro’s perfect food (spoiler, not pizza)
– Why he thinks of parents as customers
– The groundbreaking tech that might just act as the driverless cars for education
– Munro’s favorite read of the moment (now required reading for the whole Read Charlotte team)
