#106 – 2024 Year in Review

As we approach the close of another incredible year, we can’t help but reflect on the journey we’ve shared with our team, clients, and partners at SchermCo and the SchermCo Foundation. If you’re reading this, thank you for your unwavering support and belief in our work. You are the heartbeat of everything we do, and we’re endlessly grateful for the community that makes our impact possible.

This year has been extra special because SchermCo reached a major milestone: 10 years in business! Building and leading any venture—whether a side hustle, non-profit, or for-profit organization—requires grit, dedication, and hustle. Reaching the 10-year mark is nothing short of a dream come true. (And yes, the celebration was a blast!)

Back in 2014, I knew there was a need for an organization like SchermCo—one that bridges the gap between social impact and actionable implementation. The vision was simple but bold: create a team that blends strategy, hands-on execution, top-notch customer service, and a can-do attitude to get things done. A decade later, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and thrilled for what lies ahead.

At our core, SchermCo exists to empower organizations to implement solutions that truly benefit kids, families, and communities. Our work thrives on collaboration, nuance, and a commitment to designing approaches as unique as the partners we serve. It’s this personalized philosophy—and the energy of our dynamic, diverse team—that has made 2024 yet another remarkable chapter in our story.

SchermCo LLC

• We continued to work in our four main service areas:
  • Strategic Implementation
  • Workforce Development
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Data-Driven Corporate Social Responsibility

• Highlights include:
  • Confirming our first multi-year partnership through 2026
  • Helping a Pittsburgh client launch a $20M capital campaign
  • Working with a Charlotte-based client to package and grow their training model to Greensboro
  • Supporting a partner in launching a workforce development pilot program focused on introducing diverse students to careers in aviation
  • Developing a data-dashboard to help a large school district analyze family empowerment trends and insights

SchermCo Foundation

• As a reminder, the Foundation was created separate from our LLC to lead all of our data-driven family empowerment work. We raise funds to offset the cost of our work to schools, districts, and nonprofit partners. 
• Thanks to our financial supporters for making this work possible:
  • Wells Fargo, TIAA, Truist, Ally, and SchermCo
• Highlights include:
  • Served 20 schools/non-profit partners & approximately 18,000 families
  • 16/20 partners either Met or Exceeded growth
  • Collected 4,990 surveys and insights from families
  • 250 adults took advantage of financial education opportunities through our programming
  • 176 adults took advantage of workforce development opportunities through our programming
  • Received a grant to grow our model to Guilford County Schools 
  • Updated and published our second version of our family empowerment toolkit

Beyond our day to day work, we still believe in giving back. Through our SchermCo Cares, we reinvest 1% of the funds from every project back into the communities we serve. As a result, we’ve donated more than $49,000 to organizations across the country.

  • Served up 14 new slices of the Square Pizza Pod
  • Grew our LinkedIn page to 2,200+ followers 
  • Surpassed 9,000 Square Pizza downloads 
  • Reached more than 23,000 views on our Youtube page

Your dedication to building our organization and supporting our clients and partners is what makes our mission possible. Thank you for being the incredible team you are!

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re energized by the opportunities on the horizon. Big things are coming, and we’re eager to share more about our upcoming initiatives:
